School Readiness Program Information

How well a child is prepared for the start of their formal schooling life can significantly impact their long-term educational and behavioural outcomes. This program can help prepare children entering formal schooling at Prep, and help to ease anxiety about expectations and transition to schooling. It will also provide opportunities to practice social, behavioural, and emotional regulation skills that can support learning behaviours needed at school.

Some areas of focus:

Introduction to classroom routines and expectations (e.g., hand up to talk, listening during the whole class instruction, marking the roll, lining up, asking to go to the bathroom, group work, transitions, etc.)
Engagement in literacy and mathematics tasks
Individual and whole class activities
Asking for help
Initiating social skills (e.g., asking a peer to play, partnering up, asking to share equipment, etc.)
Increasing social skills and managing anxiety to facilitate learning

Dates:

Week 1: Monday 8 January 2024 - Thursday 11 January 2024

Week 2: Monday 15 January 2024 - Thursday 18 January 2024

Location: 342 Burke Road, Glen Iris VIC 3146

Fees : $900 for per week. This fee must be paid by Friday 5 January 2024, otherwise you risk forfeitting your child's place in the program. The program fee will be charged irrespective of attendance or absences on certain days. If you require a different payment plan or need to set up NDIS funding, please speak with a member of our admin team directly.
